Glowfari at the Oakland Zoo @ Night

Walk through the Oakland Zoo at night and see lit-up lanterns in the shapes of all sorts of animals and beautiful displays! Great activity for families and kids - just be sure to bundle up because it's cold at night!

Glowfari runs for a limited time at the zoo at the end of February and early March for 2023. More details on tickets here. It's $24 per adult and cheaper for kids and seniors. Free parking.

These lanterns are located throughout the zoo. You can take a gondola ride up to a section called California trail where you can walk around see all these "sea animals":

Some of them move too, like this giant mussel that opens and closes.

Cool jellyfish tunnel that you can walk through!

It's fun to walk around and explore. Different sections of the zoo have different themes, like dinosaurs over here:

You can bring your own food or buy food there, we ate at the Landings Cafe which had your standard burgers, fries, salad, soup type of stuff. I think we probably could have made better use of our time though if we had eaten beforehand.

We left around 9pm and the little one was exhausted from all the walking and so were we! :)

Check out the website if you want to reserve tickets (you have to reserve ahead of time). And these tickets are separate from the zoo entrance tickets. We actually haven't been to the zoo yet, so we want to come back during the daytime!
