Dinner and a Concert at Shoreline Amphitheatre - Backstreet Boys

Updated: Aug 9, 2022

Live concerts are back, baby! I haven't been to a concert since pre-pandemic, and I actually bought these tickets in 2020 before the pandemic. But then Backstreet Boys postponed their tour for a year and then another year (oh the anticipation). And then finally they came!! DNA World Tour!

First, a quick dinner at In-N-Out Burger off Rengstorff Ave in Mountain View (1 freeway stop over from the Shoreline exit on Highway 101). Apparently everyone else had the same idea, so the place was packed with concert goers. We realized we were running late, so we shoved the rest of the fries into our mouth and then headed out the door.

There was a humongous line and so many cars trying to get into the Amphitheater. But finally we got in, just shortly before the 5 heartthrobs took the stage. We crashed the lawn spot that my sister in law and her group of friends staked out. They had arrived there 2+ hrs earlier to get as close to the stage as possible on the lawn (note to self to get there earlier next time)!

But aahhhh!! The concert was so good!! My favorite was when they sang Chances from their latest DNA album. You can see the silhouette of Nick Carter on the big screen below.

They sang so many of their old hits - the songs that defined our teen years! All the feels!! So many women swooning in the audience, and the boyfriends/husbands they brought along with them. But secret: my husband is a bigger BSB fan than me. XP

At one part, they mentioned what age they started in the band. Nick started when he was 12, with the oldest being Kevin at 21 when he started. And can you believe it's been 30 years since they've been around?! It's really incredible to think about how much their music has impacted so many people, even after all these years. It's jaw dropping how many people filled the amphitheater that night, and must have come from near and far. What a great night.

For your own concert experience, check out the lineup of the upcoming shows coming to Shoreline.

Btw they have tons of food and drinks for sale including food trucks, so you don't need to eat elsewhere before coming. Also you can't bring lawn chairs, but you can rent chairs there for the lawn (you may need to reserve ahead of time). They're strict on bag sizes (small bags only, like size of your hand, otherwise you need to check your bag in) or a clear vinyl bag if you want to bring a bigger bag. It was a little chilly at night, so bring a sweater and a picnic blanket if you're on the lawn. Enjoy the show!!
