Focaccia from famous Liguria Bakery available on Fridays at Sigona's in Redwood City

I hear there are hours long waits at Liguria Bakery in SF for their famed Italian focaccia. According to this article, it's a third generation family business that's been around since 1911!

Luckily you can avoid the long lines in SF by going to Sigona's market in Redwood City. On Fridays, they get a fresh delivery of this amazing focaccia but hurry because they may run out of the flavor you're looking for as the day goes on. It's set up right in the front of the store so you can't miss it.

Now there are an assortment of flavors: the original rosemary flavor, rosemary & garlic, jalapeno & cheddar, mushroom, and a tomato one.

They are $9.99 each and I get multiple at a time. A fellow customer who had one in her cart highly recommended them, any flavor. She likes to eat it plain or as a sandwich by slicing it, or even as croutons if it gets stale. As for the best time to eat it, she recommends eating it that day or heck even in the car haha.

Here's a close up of them when I got home.

They're really good. It's soft and fluffy when you first bite into it but then it is also dense and has a chewiness to it as you sink your teeth into it. The texture is perfect. And it's even better when you heat it up in the oven. It doesn't last long in our house, and we also returned to Sigona's the following week for 3 more, so I could bring 1 to a party as well (2 for us at home hehe).

Alright hope you enjoy! It's also great dipped into olive oil / balsamic vinegar or into a pasta sauce.
