Eyebrow shaping at Anastasia Brow Studio in San Jose

I've been a longtime fan of the beauty brand Anastasia Beverly Hills, using their eyebrow products like the famous Brow Powder Duo.

The brand was founded by Anastasia Soare who was doing eyebrows for celebrities before she started the beauty line. Check out this video by Victoria Beckham with Anastasia. I mean, who wouldn't love Anastasia to do their eyebrows?

So when I heard about the Anastasia Brow Studio, I was intrigued. Trained experts will shape your brows according to Anastasia's techniques. And the Brow Studio is situated within Nordstrom at locations like Valley Fair mall and the San Francisco Centre in the Bay Area.

I booked an appointment online for the Valley Fair location in San Jose with Cathy, and you can choose from different brow / chin / lip waxing or tweezing services. For example, an eyebrow wax + lip is $49 (+ tip) and takes about 20 mins long.

The service happens on the first floor in the beauty department where the Anastasia makeup section is.

There's a comfy chair where the service is done. And it'd kind of like how there's waxing at the Benefit beauty counter in Macy's stores, which is where I used to go.

Cathy was sweet and helpful, and she measured where the shape of my eyebrows should be. Turns out, I have overtweezed and am missing eyebrow hairs in the inner corners of my eyebrows - oops. I had no idea this whole time!

She waxed my eyebrows and actually my skin is very sensitive so it was pretty red and irritated after. Eventually the redness did go away after a day, but next time I would skip the waxing part and opt for getting them tweezed instead.

Other than that, I really like the shape of my eyebrows and waxing got rid of all the extra baby hairs for a clean look. I wish my skin wasn't as sensitive because with tweezing, you can still get the shape but it won't be as clean and sharp (it's hard to tweeze all the baby hairs). Oh wells! I'm happy with how they turned out and the shaping was probably the best (most natural looking) out of all the places I've been to before. Where do you like to go for getting your eyebrows done?
