Traditional Italian Panettone from La Biscotteria in Redwood City

La Biscotteria is one of those hidden gems of the Peninsula in the Bay Area. Run by Augustine Buonocore for over thirty years, this bakery has many kinds of biscotti as well as traditional Panettone, an Italian sweet bread with raisins and other candied fruits (like a fruit cake). It's popular around the holiday time, and that's how I stumbled across this place.

A family member loves panettone, so as a Christmas gift, I wanted to find them some real legit panettone! Not just the dry store-bought kind that sits on the shelves for weeks and months.

I came in and the owner Augustine kindly showed me around the shop and the different panettone options. I believe they do have panettone year round but they have a nicely wrapped one in red foil for the holidays. They have different sizes and flavors - traditional, holiday, and triple P (pineapple, papaya, and pear) for people who don't like raisins.

Such a nice guy!

The beautiful gift I bought!

I had a taste of it too and it was moist and delicious and I liked the fruity bits in it! Tastes so different when it's fresh panettone, wow! Biscotti was very good too, highly recommend both!
