Salad Cooking Class at Tal Palo in Los Altos

This class completely changed the way I look at salads. One day, after making my husband a soggy and sad salad, we happened to stop by Tal Palo and heard about their upcoming salad cooking class. My hubby immediately signed me to go. I was excited because I agreed I needed to work on my salad game.

Another thing that drew me to the course was that it is uncommon to see a salad cooking class. I've browsed a lot of cooking class catalogs for places in the bay that host them, and no one else has done a salad class, or at least that I've seen before. Maybe because people think it's obvious to just assemble the salad ingredients, but oh my, after this class, I realized how much care and love can go into making a good, vibrant, and nourishing salad.

First of all, the owners of Tal Palo, Adriana and Aaron, are so passionate about food, hospitality, and community. They are very humble and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed learning from them and hearing about their experiences and approach to cooking.

I won't spoil the details of what exactly was covered in the class, but it was well thought out, very interactive conversations back and forth, you get to taste things along the way, including a salad at the end!

I don't think I've had such a unique and sexy salad like this before. 😋 I feel so empowered and excited to experiment with different ingredients for the salad and dressing to eat more greens in my and my family's life.

This tea was also amazing (they create their own teabags from different loose leaf teas). And by the end, my notecard was filled with notes, recommendations, etc.

The restaurant is beautiful and has a really chill calm vibe, a nice respite from the bustling world outside. I can't wait to go back for a meal!
