Fish and Chips from Cook's Seafood in Menlo Park

When driving down El Camino in the Menlo Park / Palo Alto area, you are bound to have seen the sign for Cook's Seafood which has been a longstanding fish market and seafood restaurant in Menlo Park since 1928! It's a humble place and quite full on a Friday night with people sitting down for a steaming hot plate of fish and chips. They also have clam chowder, other seafood and chips (like calamari, shrimp), sandwiches, grilled fish etc..

You order at the counter and then it's open seating until they bring your order to you. There's no waiters and you bus your own tray at the end. Their prices are very reasonable, it looks like they haven't raised it much over the years! It's a great deal for a meal.

We had a decent group of people so we ordered a bunch of fish. Look how big the pieces are! And the fries are satisfying and thick!

Food coma afterwards! I actually liked the grilled fish because it was simple but flavorful.

There's a counter next door to the restaurant where you can order fresh seafood. I want to try that next!

It's quite close to Stanford Shopping Center, you can't miss it! It feels rare to find things that have been here for so long, so it's great to see such a hidden gem in the community still around with quality food!
