Chef Li, a local Chinese restaurant in San Jose, is unfortunately closing its doors on May 15, 2025 because the lease was not renewed by the landlord.
There's a great article in San Jose Spotlight about this restaurant that's been around for 28 years and it's dedicated hardworking owner Eric Diec.
He's passionate about food but also plants! He has this beautiful amazing collection of orchids all around the restaurant and they can be purchased before the restaurant closes next week.
From what I saw, the prices ranged from $10 - $60 but he likely has larger ones that I didn't see the prices on.
All I can say is wow, what a collection he's created. They're really beautiful and in colors I haven't even seen before. Mother's Day is around the corner so this could be a good gift idea!
It's also a restaurant of course and has a typical Chines restaurant menu (more on the American Chinese food side it felt like). It even has lunch specials too!
